Instruments for recording, for drawing out, for divining and for measuring have evolved throughout our technological history. Performed as a series of drawings with a hand built rudimentary tool consisting of string, a ceramic womb, a stone and a bag of worms, ‘Womb and Worms’ is a meditation drawing ritual exploring cycles of life and death. By the initial drawing out of a circle, a boundary is created, creating an internal space of potentiality. A cosmic map unfolds over the sequence, from scales of the microcosmic to the macrocosmic universe.
