01   Celeste

Sound Sculpture and Performance Space
2023

Wood, cymbals, steel, horse hair, cow hide, latex, fan, audio resonators, audio file, copper, ceramic

Celeste begins with an image: a 12th-century manuscript drawing by Mesopotamian polymath Ismail Al-Jazari — the earliest known record of a music-making automaton. On a small boat sit four female robotic musicians, a device often described as the first programmable drum machine. It was these figures that caught my attention, and continue to captivate me.

Reimagined in this work into a sonic and air powered installation, comprised of audio transistors, fans, wood and uniquley designed musical instruments. A reverberation throughout the structure creates a vibrational healing field and perfromance space.

02   Cazimi, As If In The Heart

Film, Super8, 16.30 minutes
2026
Cazimi, As If In The Heart is a poem-film tracing female states of becoming. The film's soundscape draws on solar data from NASA's Parker Solar Probe, charting a descent into the gravity of Venus and the slingshot manoeuvre that carries the probe toward the sun's core. Through fall as motif — rendered through embodied movement, breathwork, and poetry — the performers undergo a ritual in which mind and body move toward freedom together.

03   Magic SquaresPastel Drawings
2023- Ongoing

Soft Pastel,  Repurposed book sleeve
The talismanic practice of magic squares, some of the first algorithmic formulae, were key to developments in mathematics as well as the understanding of Sufi philosophical principles and healing practices.

The Arabic term for a magic square is wafq al-a’dad, “the harmonious disposition of numbers”. My magic squares are personal records and spells for my familial and interpersonal relationships. Its a practice that slows me down and helps to organise my mind.

04  Mistress ToolsSculpture
2025

Cast alluminum, led light, laptop, printed silk, rubber, cord

Inspired by Audre Lorde’s seminal essay, "The Master's Tools Will Never Dismantle the Master's House," this sculpture operates in the register of the irrational, the imaginative, and the symbolic. Signs and symbols populate my mystical mind. The deer, the seer, the witness, the intuitive, always present to the working.

05 WhispersLive Wind Experience
2018

Customized DMX Fans, Scaffolding, Plastic Sheeting, Sound, Lighting
Whispers explores the somatic experience of wind — its capacity to unsettle, disorient, and dissolve the boundaries of self. Unfolding over a twelve-minute sequence of sound, light and wind, the work opens the body to sensations of surrender, loss of control and overwhelm.

06 InanPerformance Reading and Short Story
2025
This short fictional story follows the journey of a young female slave poet from the Abbasid period. The work follows a framework of feminie innitiation inspired by overlaping traditions. Pictured here is a perfromance reading for the innagural opening of Teaspoon Projects.

07 Shimmer TimePublic Artwork
2021
Commissioned by the City of North Vancouver and TransLink, this light-responsive work extends along the 100-metre tunnel at Lonsdale Quay, where travellers pass through on their daily ferry crossing between North Vancouver and Vancouver city centre. The work imagines the continuation of that crossing — the way light moves over water, creating a surface that is never the same twice. Passing through is to be briefly held inside a threshold: alive and ever changing.

08 Swoon, The Sounds Of The TrumpetPneumatic Sculpture
2023
Swoon, The Sounds Of The Trumpet is a sculptural sound work composed of a 3D printed ceramic horn, a cow intestine and a DMX programmed fan. The work releases a breathwork pattern recorded by the artist conceived to bring about an out of body and hallucinatory experience.

The trumpet, a 3D printed porcelain horn is a precise model of a geometric figure, a Gabriels Horn which represents infinite surface and finite volume in mathematical terms. The trumpet is an symbol in both the Quran and the Bible, where it is blown as a marker of when the period of the world is completed.
